Mike, I'm gonna try to go too. Hey, on Friday night we saw John Gorka at the Turning Point, he was great. I forgot how good he is and how much I like him!
He took requests and did Blue Chalk which Maura does a fabulous version of also.

That Irish music festival (in September) is also very tempting. It seems like the perfect music venue for Maura. ..I am not sure it will work (in terms of me being able to attend)...but it would a nice end to summer!

the VT festival also features BLACK 47 with Larry Kirwan leading them through renegade Irish/punk/rock a la the POGUES and Shane MacGowan. Great stuff.

Can't get to VT but trying for Town Crier!

I have never heard Black 47 but I have heard very good things about them.

I am not sure that would work...It is right the beginning of school and that time of year is crazy...but I would like to try!

Well, we went to the show...and it had to be a bit abbreviated...

Seems there was an emergency with John Mock (one of the guitarists) and he could not be there. They had to do an abbreviated set...Maura apologized (sp?) profusely, but it was still a very nice evening.

I will share the set sometime this week ( I actually wrote it down this time).

Not sure the last time I saw Maura at the Town Crier, but it has been a while...Nice venue.

It was still a really nice evening, just a bit shorter...and most importantly.....MAURA LET US CLAP ALONG FOR ONE SONG ..."The blessing!" That made me laugh...

We had a good time! I hope all is okay with John Mock's family.

Set List:

Summerfly
The Scholar
Blue Train
I Know My Love
The Weakness in Me
Hay Una Mujer Desparacida
Bright Blue Rose
Gallieo
Blessing (she let us clap)
Encore: Water is Wide

Still a great night, just a bit shorter than usual!

Mike
