I am not big on Facebook or MySpace, just don't really get into them.

I know all musicians and bands have sites for both, as does Maura.

I went to the MO myspace site by mistake this morning and in checking it out anyway I found the usual nonsense on the posting from other members, 90% of which is that "friend's" promoting their stuff, sometimes it is hard to figure out what they are marketing, probably not even really a friend or fan.

BUT, this time I saw something that surprised me; the comment was "I love your songwriting"...

I guess Maura can't sell any more shirts about being "Just a Singer".

I also don't like that iTunes' closest category for MO's type of music is now called "singer/songwriter", that's not really a category in my book.

I am glad I got those two things off my chest, now I can try to stay cool in weather of 95+ with a heat index/humidity of 100, yikes, this summer has been brutal.

People who spam others' FB or MS pages in order to advertise their own products are disrespectful and annoying, IMHO.

Hmmm. I wonder what category we *should* put Maura in?

I go first: the "Great Singer/Selecter/Intepreter of Songs"-category!

I think "Folk Diva" always works....

Those categories are funny.. I remember a few years ago (8 to be exact), Maura was at the NewPort Folk Festival. It was really a venue for folk singer/songwriters...She even made jokes about the fact that she was the only one there that did not write songs...She seemed to fit right in during that festival.

I really enjoyed that festival. It was harder than heck,though...Bob Dylan was the headliner.
