This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of seeing Maura at The Ark once again. My husband and I had planned to go with a couple friends, but we found out Saturday that our babysitter couldn't watch the kids. Since the girls had no school on Monday, we decided that this would be a wonderful opportunity for them to see Maura sing.
John Mock opened the evening, and topped the last time I saw him open by playing four different instruments. We took the opportunity to pick up his latest album.
Maura's set began with some sound issues - John's guitar cut out after the first verse of To Bet the One. No matter - while that was fixed, Maura sang The Water is Wide beautifully.
From what I can recall, here are the songs that she sang (in no particular order, except the first and last couple):
To Be the One
The Water is Wide
Spinning Wheel
No Place to Hide
Love You in the Middle
Blue Train
Sumerfly
Down By the Sally Gardens
A Far Cry
Shades of Gloria
Western Highway
Feet of a Dancer
I Know My Love
Weakness in Me
Poetic Justice
Galileo
Trouble in the Fields
Blue Chalk
Crazy Love
After the show, we had a chance to chat (although I felt guilty monopolizing Maura since there were a lot of people waiting for their chance to meet her). Even though my girls (who are 6-1/2 and almost 9 now!) were pretty sleepy by the end of the night, I am happy that they had the opportunity to have their first show at The Ark be a concert by Maura.

Thanks for all of the memories over the years!
